Are on-line degrees worth their salt? In the past I have heard they were not being that they were on-line, but have the schools of thought changed in that respect?books

I am thinking about going to back to get my Masters in Education, but my Bachelors is in Theatre which is not what I want to pursue in Education. I really would like to teach Senior English, or elementary education.

This is where the problem lies. Do I need to get undergraduate courses in their of these disciplines, or can I just start from where I am? Also, I don’t know which I would rather do, and they are very different from one another.

So many questions, so few answers.

How Sick Can One Person Be? January 26, 2009

I mean for real?! For the past few weeks I have felt tired and achy, figuring that I was just running myself ragged working and rehearsing. BIG surprise Friday morning- I woke up beyond sick.

With no choice, I still go into work, throat yelling and body aching the entire time. On Saturday I woke up for rehearsal and could not move. My ear was in so much pain, and my throat hurt really bad, so I had to call out of rehearsal. We open on Thursday by the way.

I end up at the Doctor…. why? Cause Mom said so. After an hour of waiting and 5 minutes with a really nice Doctor I am told “Well dear, you are far worse than you think. You have strep, an upper respiratory infection, and an ear infection.” Now in my head I am thinking What the hell? I wasn’t sick two days ago! I have a show opening on Thursday and an audition in TN on Saturday. I need to get better now. I proceed to tell the doctor this in a better way, and she proceeds to give me four different prescriptions.

Did I mention that I don’t have health insurance?

Yeah, no insurance, but South Carolina does have one good thing. Apparently they give a discount on generic prescriptions to folks who do not have insurance- works for me. I saved 50 bucks.

Well, I was back at work today, exhausted, and still sick. I still have a show opening on Thursday, and an audition on Saturday. I PRAY I am better.

Life Goes On January 19, 2009

So, there have been some changes in my life since my last post, but none of them monumental.

Speaking of acting, I am in a show that is a world premier! It’s called The Geography Club and its a play written by Brett Haringer, who also wrote the book. If you know me, you know I love trying something new. Well, this role is something new alright- I am a high school lesbian soccer player.=)

I am also going back on tour again, thank God. AFT asked me to play the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio, coming up in March. i am really looking forward to it- I miss being on the road. Though, this time it’s all new people, and I hope I luck out like last time.

In some other news, I may only be 24, but I am on the board of directors for a theatre company. The Edge Theatre Company to be exact. I think it’s awesome. I am the fund-raising chair, and I have lots of plans. If you have any ideas, please let me know, I am all about some help right now.

Other than that, not too much else is going on. I plan on updating this more frequently, but there is no garentee =)
